NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES - NORTHWEST DIVISION WOODBURN DRAGSTRIP, WOODBURN, ORE. Monday June 28, 2010 Severance and Hough Earn Victories at Les Schwab Challenge at Woodburn Dragstrip WOODBURN, Ore. (June 28, 2010) – In the final results from the 33rd Annual Les Schwab Challenge at Woodburn Dragstrip and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Joey Severance, Woodburn, Ore. and Brian Hough, Junction City, Ore. took home the wins in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car respectively. Severance worked his way through the field and ran 5.413 seconds at 263.85 mph in his final round victory over Shawn Cowie, Delta, B.C. who clocked in at 5.428 seconds, 264.00 mph. Hough faced off against Jeff Ashwell, Keizer, Ore. and posted a winning run of 5.703 seconds, 253.16 mph in his '10 Monte Carlo. Ashwell drove to a 5.858 second, 2.44.36 mph lap for his runner up finish. Other racers visiting the winner’s circle this weekend were Brandon Huhtala, Puyallup, Wash. in Comp Eliminator; Tony Mandella, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. in Super Stock; Michael Dalrymple, Sunnyside, Wash. in Super Comp; Steve Cozakos, Marysville, Wash., in Stock Eliminator; Steve Laskowske, Tigard, Ore. in Super Gas; Bob Sims, Puyallup, Wash. in Super Street; Brandon Yoder, Gresham, Ore. in Super Pro and Tony Price, Tigard, Ore. in Pro. In the division’s Top Sportsman class it was Barry Hobson, Seattle, Wash. taking the win while Tom Malicki, Brush Prairie, Wash. won in Top Dragster. Tom Malicki, Brush Prairie, Wash. took the win in Sportsman Motorcycle presented by Harley Davidson. In Super Pro, Northwest Division racers head to Spokane County Raceway for the next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, July 29-August 1.
